Carroll
Hoskins, LSCSW
Carroll Hoskins began her professional career in elementary and special
education. She soon found herself looking toward the effect of family relationships on student functioning. This
led her to obtain a Master's in Social Work from the University of Kansas. She then began working as a psychiatric
social worker at Western Missouri Mental Health Center, which primarily served an indigent population.
There
she became even more interested in family functioning and began post-graduate training in Family Therapy at the Menninger
Foundation in Topeka, Kansas. She completed the two year program for Community Practitioners as well as the Menninger-Kansas
City Advanced Family Therapy Training Program in Bowen Systems Theory. She continued her professional training in the
Special Postgraduate Program in Family Systems and Family Psychotherapy for Mental Health Professionals at the Georgetown
Family Center in Washington, DC.
In 1983, Ms. Hoskins joined the staff of Menninger-Kansas City as a psychotherapist.
In 1995, this group established a private practice as Psychiatric and Family Services of Greater Kansas City, LLC where Ms.
Hoskins continues to practice individual, couples and family therapy. She also provides clinical consultation for mental
health professionals, as well as work system consultations for other professionals.
From 1983 to 2000, Ms. Hoskins
was a faculty member and supervisor in the Menninger-Kansas City Family Therapy Training Program in Bowen Theory for Community
Practitioners. From 1998 to 2000, she served as Clinical Director of that program. When the Menninger program
ended, Ms. Donley and Ms. Hoskins began Bowen Family Systems Clinical Seminars.
Ms. Hoskins is licensed in Kansas
as a LSCSW and a LCMFT and in Missouri as a LCSW. She is also a member of NASW, ACSW and AAMFT.
